Caramel covered brain
slapped and stuck
to the inside of a station wagon
windshield and the sun
is beating down on all
the parking lot.
The sugar bubbles at the edges
and the little dog in the passenger seat
starts licking at it and in all the heat
it’s coat catches on fire.
The flames spread to the gas tank
and with the dog long dead
and candy brain dissolved
the car explodes sending metal off
in every known direction.
Moments later a tall man
with a cranium hanging off his head
like a tin can lid
puts his pale hands against
his pale face
and starts to scream.
