Angle

There is no morning
that’s just what we call a certain
angle of the sun when things
get brighter very slowly,
and the whole world
has to look at what it’s done.
Household demolition
with a sledge hammer did nothing
but teach me it was okay to destroy
what I was finished with.
I pretend the wall is in my way
and bring the cudgel down
like it is everything.
I remember the radio in her car
and how it looked so much
like many older radios.
I hadn’t seen that kind
in quite a while.
It didn’t work very well
but with the windows down
it cut through all the wind.
