Everything Here

He does tricks on his skate board
while his parents aren’t home, and
it rains the entire time that they’re gone.
His older brother chain smokes on the back deck,
and frequently looks up from his copy
of Dune to glance at Trisha through her
window where she is dancing. The downpour
is loud against the metal awning above him,
but he could still hear the music cutting through
the insulation in her walls. There is lightning making
the sky bleed over everything, but it must be colder than
usual because there has been nothing louder than the
raindrops since it started. All three of them hoped that the
storm would continue on forever, and that everything
here would just drown in the infinite blood of the clouds.
